Chicken Tikka Skewers

Try out these tasty AND healthy chicken tikka skewers! These will be sure to get your taste buds tingling and with each skewer under 200 calories, it would be rude not to!

Chicken Tikka Skewers Recipe

Prep Time: 1 hour (50 minutes is marinating time)

Cook Time: 20-30 mins

Total Time: 1 hour 30 mins

Serves: 2 skewers


  • 1 chicken breast fillet

  • 1/4 pot (125g) fat-free Greek style yogurt

  • 1tbsp tikka powder

  • Squeeze of lemon juice

  • Red onion

  • Yellow pepper


  1. Cut chicken breast fillet into cubes. Mix the yogurt, tikka powder and squeeze of lemon and marinate the chicken pieces in the mix for about 45-50 minutes.

  2. If you're using bamboo skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes before using.

  3. Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees/gas mark 4 or if you fancy it, get your BBQ ready! Cut onion and pepper into big enough pieces to put onto your skewers.

  4. Add the chicken pieces, onion and pepper to the skewers and cook for 20-30 minutes depending on cooking method*.

  5. Serve up with a side salad, rice, bulgar wheat... or whatever you want really!

*make sure the chicken is cooked throughout before serving.
